Toronto Safety Committee
- Support a Toronto Safety Committee approach that brings residents, agencies, and community partners to the same table
- Strengthen coordination between City divisions, frontline organizations, and neighbourhood leaders on shared priorities
- Advance strategic initiatives that improve prevention, response, and long-term community wellbeing
Crime Prevention
- Invest in local crime prevention strategies that address root causes before violence happens
- Support targeted responses to hate crime and actions that protect vulnerable communities
- Expand youth crime prevention through mentorship, recreation, and early intervention programs
- Strengthen initiatives that address violence against women with survivor-informed community supports
Gun Violence Prevention
- Back community-based gun violence prevention programs focused on outreach and intervention
- Work with enforcement and prevention partners to reduce illegal firearms and repeat violence
- Prioritize neighbourhood investments that create safer alternatives and opportunities for at-risk youth
Victim & Community Assistance
- Improve access to victim assistance for individuals and families affected by violence
- Strengthen community assistance networks so residents can connect quickly to local support
- Ensure recovery services are responsive, accessible, and rooted in neighbourhood needs
Mental Health & Crisis Management
- Expand mental health supports so residents can get help before challenges become emergencies
- Support crisis management responses that connect people to care, de-escalation, and follow-up services
- Advocate for strategic investments in community mental health resources across Toronto and Scarborough Centre
